IV Therapy for Pregnancy & New Mothers in Tulsa
Growing a baby is demanding work—on your body, your energy, and your nutritional reserves. Thrive’s nurse-led IV therapy offers expectant and new mothers a safe, clinically guided way to address the dehydration, nausea, fatigue, and nutritional depletion that pregnancy and postpartum so often bring. Available at our Midtown and South Tulsa locations or via mobile service when getting out of the house isn’t an option.
Is It Safe to Get IV Fluids While Pregnant?
IV hydration is widely used in clinical settings during pregnancy and is generally considered safe when administered by licensed medical professionals following proper intake and screening procedures. At Thrive, every prenatal client receives a thorough health intake before their session, and our Registered Nurses—several of whom have Labor & Delivery backgrounds—are trained to assess and monitor throughout the infusion. Our protocols are overseen by Dr. Jawad Trad, a triple board-certified cardiologist.
As with any wellness treatment during pregnancy, we recommend consulting your OB or midwife beforehand, and we take a conservative, clinically responsible approach with every expectant client.
Morning Sickness & Nausea Relief
Nausea and morning sickness are among the most common reasons pregnant women seek IV hydration—and among the most valid. When nausea makes it difficult to keep fluids or food down, oral hydration quickly becomes inadequate. IV therapy delivers fluids and nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system entirely and restoring hydration at the cellular level even when eating and drinking feel impossible.
Anti-nausea support may be available as part of your infusion when clinically appropriate and approved through your intake. Your RN will review your health history and current trimester before making any recommendations.
Nutritional Support During Pregnancy
Pregnancy significantly increases your body’s demand for vitamins and minerals—and depletes them faster. Vitamin deficiencies during pregnancy can interfere with fetal development and contribute to complications. IV therapy delivers essential vitamins, electrolytes, and minerals directly into your bloodstream for complete, immediate absorption—a meaningful supplement to prenatal nutrition when diet alone isn’t keeping up.
IV fluids have also been associated with supporting amniotic fluid levels and improving breastfeeding outcomes, making hydration therapy a relevant consideration not just during pregnancy but in the postpartum period as well.
Pregnancy Fatigue
The fatigue that comes with pregnancy—particularly in the first and third trimesters—is real and often underestimated. It’s not just tiredness; it’s the physiological result of your body diverting enormous energy and nutritional resources to support fetal growth. B vitamins play a central role in energy metabolism, and their depletion during pregnancy directly contributes to that dragging, depleted feeling. IV delivery restores them quickly and completely, giving your body what it needs to support both you and your baby.
Postpartum Recovery
The demands on your body don’t stop at delivery. The postpartum period brings its own wave of nutritional depletion, sleep deprivation, and physical recovery. IV therapy can be a meaningful support tool for new mothers navigating breastfeeding, healing, and the exhaustion of those early weeks—replenishing what labor, delivery, and newborn care take out of you.
Mobile service is particularly popular with new mothers who can’t easily get to a spa location. A licensed Registered Nurse comes to you within 1–3 hours—bringing the same clinical standards and pharmaceutical-grade care to your home.
